Blowout and Panning

Blowout

Panning

Blow out pulling light into the picture to make artistic view. Panning is taking the picture of something while moving with it at the same speed to make your emphasis clear as day but blurring out everything else.

Shutter Speed

Shutter Speed is the speed is the amount of time your camera takes when taking a picture. In the picture the setting is dark and the only thing we are using are our phone lights to draw in the darkness. The shuttter speed has been set to a slower speed in order to give us time to draw the picture. My favorite picture is the one at the very top.

Aperture

Aperture is the size of the hole that light goes through.

Iso

Flash

50

400

5000

Iso drags in as much natural light as possible in order too make your phot brighter. In the first picture I used flash to make the picture brighter but as you can see opposed to the other pictures that the flash to the light from the christmas lights in the background and made it so you couldn't see them. In the Iso pictures, the picture has been brightened using the light from the christmas lights and and allowing the natural light in the picture to still be seen.

Flash

The Pros of flash is that it makes your emphasis easier to see, theres no blurryness. The cons is that it takes out all natural light in the picture, it can create red eye in your pictures and irritate your subject.

Flash is good when its dark or if your just trying to take snapshot with no artisticness behind it.

Flash is bad if you have like pretty light ion your picture and you want to capture it in your picture.

My picture is better with flash because the blanket is just as dark as the couch and if you didnt take this picture with flash you wouldn be able to see the blanket as well

Metering

Metering on the camera measures the amount of light that the camera lens allows in.

In the first picture we focused the camera mainly on my partners skin so when the picture was taken the camera allowed enough light in to show my partner. On the second picture we focused the camera on the computer light so when the picture was taken everything else around the computer came out dark and un-seeable.

Metering can help you in the future if your ever taking a picture in a place where there isn much light.

Surrealism: Strawberry Heaven

The dream i had was of strawberries. It was really just a random dream that i didnt understand at all. I just took the dream and ran with it and tried to think of a way to make a dream about strawberries look interesting to look at. I had a random objject which was a light house. I some how figured out how to work that in there as time went on and i worked on the picture. This picture was basically a make it up as you go picture. but in the end I like the way the picture came out visually, I think I did a good job of turning something plain as strawberries onto something interesting to look at

A past to remember

This artwork is of my more recent past. This quilt has a great amount of foortball related ipictures and statements because of the upsetting football season that we ended with due to problems the players on the team couldn't control. THe trophies and rewards throughout the pictures are some of the only good things I look back on and rember about the season. My jersey number is on the background because I was the first person to wear that jersey eve; i made that jersey number known throughout the entire season wherever I played

Surreal Practice Tutorials

In the desert tutorial we mad use of the gradient tool in photoshop to make the sky look realistic. We had to distort the desert to make it look more like it was going into the distance and not a wall. We also put a shadow on the light post and layed it on the ground to show where th sun is in the picture. We had to fade and blur the shadow to make it look real. We used cloud paintbrushes of different sizes to pute the clouds in the sky.
This project gives me alot of different ideas to use for when i have to create my own surreal picture. it showed me some differnet thing I might not have known about and it makes me think to pay more attention to detail when I make my own picture

Personal Quilt

My Quilt

Inside

Ouitside

Future

Past

I was very unsure of how to do my quilt squares in the beginning because I didn’t exactly understand the project. I had a lot of roadblocks with my ideas in my mind.  As time went on and I finished one quilt Square though I started to get more and more ideas for my other quilt squares. As I understood it more, I decided that as a part of me, most of the squares will have something football related in them because football is one of the most important things in my life.

My mom and my dad are the most important thing though, so they have been included in every quilt. They have and always will be with me throughout my entire life and they will support me in any endeavor I undertake.

I enjoyed doing all my quilts but my favorite Quilt is my past quilt. I like the way the past Quilt came out because I had a lot of ideas bouncing around in my head when doing it. I wasn’t sure how to put them together until I put everything I wanted on the quilt and just started playing around with everything. My least favorites are my inside because that was the first quilt I did and I wasn’t sure how to do the assignment at first. It was the quilt that had the least amount creativity to it.
